Championship Show at Bellewstown Racecourse on the 13th July 2025

We are delighted to announce that our yearly Championship Show will be held on the 13th July 2025 in Bellewstown Racecourse. Please mark your calendar!

This year we are excited to welcome Frank Thiemann from Bochum/ Germany as our judge. I let him introduce himself:

First, I would like to thank you very much for the invitation to judge your Club Championship show.
I am honoured for the confidence and trust from the Irish Wolfhound Society of Ireland and especially it’s President Anne O’Keefe.

For more than 50 years dogs enrich my life. A Toy poodle as a small boy was the beginning, followed by several more Breeds like Great Danes, Yorkshire Terriers, Bearded Collies and others… But for ages my heart was taken by Irish Wolfhounds. Unfortunately, I was only able to fulfil this dream - together with my fiancée Eva – about 15 years ago, after we found the appropriate house for us and our dogs. Currently we have 5 Irish Wolfhounds living with us and bringing smiles to our faces daily.

We did research this magnificent breed thoroughly and started to breed as well. We have exhibited our dogs all over Europe – from Finland to Montenegro and won European Championships, German Winners, lots of Champions and got even an Irish Champion title with our dog Bacio.

I am really looking forward to my journey to the homeland of this fascinating breed and hope to see lots of fabulous Hounds in the ring and to meet old friends again.

A big Thank You as well to my other half, who is at home looking – hopefully - after pups. This would be impossible without her!
